After a hard-fought first round series, the Canes eliminated the Haliburton County Huskies with an overtime victory last night, taking the series 4–1 and punching their ticket to the second round of the OJHL playoffs. Owen Bruining scored the overtime winner to seal the series in dramatic fashion and send Newmarket through to the next stage.
