NEWMARKET’S PHILLIPS NAMED OJHL EAST CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE MONTH

December 5, 2025, Mississauga, Ontario – The Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL) announced today that Nathan Phillips of the Newmarket Hurricanes (Photo by Dann Tardif / OJHL Images) has been named the East Conference Player of the Month for November after he tallied 22 points during 10 games. His eight goals included a game-winner, one of his four points during a 6-3 win in Mississauga on Nov. 12. Phillips had another four-point night at Trenton on Nov. 7.

In his third season with the franchise known as the Toronto Jr. Canadiens before this season, the 20-year-old from Burlington has 18 goals and 26 assists this year.

Phillips has been selected to play in the OJHL’s 20 Year Old Game at Ontario Tech University in Oshawa Monday. The new event will feature two teams of elite 20-year-old players who will compete in front of Canadian university coaches.
