On Saturday, November 22nd, The Hurricanes dominated a game against the Buffalo Jr. Sabres at Ray Twinney!
Buffalo started the game almost 8 minutes into the game with a goal from Forward Jaden Flora, and the game stayed 1-0 for the Sabres until Simon Wang scored the equalizer later in the first to tie this game at a goal a piece. It wouldnβt take long for the Hurricanes to get the lead, as 41 seconds into the second period, Simon Wang strikes again, scoring his 2nd of the game and 13th on the year!
The Hurricanes would strike again later in the second period, with an excellent play from Chase Yanni and Nathan Phillips to pull off the fake Michigan wrap-around goal! The Hurricanes would keep this lead 3-1 going into the third period, until 40 seconds in and Joseph Macchione adds some insurance to put the Canesβ up 4-1.
The final would end 4-1, with an amazing game from multiple players, like Goaltender Max Grovestine, who stopped 24 out of 25 shots to collect the W!
On Tuesday, the Hurricanes took on the St. Michaels Buzzers in St. Mikes!
The first would see Hurricanes Forwards Kristian Lamanna and Nathan Phillips add tallies, and St. Mikes Defenceman Alex Fegaras add a goal for the opponents as well. And that is all they would get, because in the second period, Alexander Sementsov scored his second goal of the season, increasing their lead by 1.
The third period would see the Hurricanes add one more, from Defenceman Noah Gaudet-Barton, with his first of the year!
The game would end in the favour of the Hurricanes, winning both games this weekend by a score of 4-1!
The Hurricanes next home game is Saturday, November 29th, when they take on the Stouffville Spirit, at Ray Twinney! Puck drop is set for 4:30pm, with special guests the Jones performing live at the game, as well as the 30th anniversary of the Newmarket 87s Championship team!
